DTN Weekly DDG Price Held Steady on Average
DTN's weekly average spot price for domestic distillers dried grains is
steady versus one week ago.

MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers
dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended April 23 was
$186 per ton on average, unchanged versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed but steady on average for the week, while cash corn
was higher and soybean meal prices were lower, down $11.70 versus one week ago.
As for cash corn, the DTN National Average Corn Index was up 9 cents versus one
week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative
to corn for the week ended April 23 was 1.123%. The value of DDG relative to
soybean meal was 58.77% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $6.89
compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.66.
U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains
with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report, showed these May prices as of
April 23: CIF NOLA barge price was up $3 at $258 metric ton (mt) versus on week
ago; FOB vessel Gulf price was up $2 at $270 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $18
at $288; and rail delivered to California was steady at $279 mt.
Ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.04 million barrels per
day (bpd) in the week ended April 17, down 80,000 bpd week-on-week and 7,000
bpd, or 0.7%, higher than in the same week last year, the Energy Information
Administration reported Wednesday. Four-week average output at 1.088 million
bpd was 56,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol
production averaged 979,000 bpd, down 88,000 bpd week-on-week and 3,000 bpd, or
0.3%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.034
million bpd was 57,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
