DTN COMMENTS:  A few scattered bids are on the table but are being passed. 
Asking prices are still not established. Significant trade volume will 
likely be delayed until Thursday or later. 

Today's slaughter totaled 127,000 head, 5,000 more than last week, but 1,000 
less than a year ago. Cattle futures closed mostly moderately higher on live 
contracts, up 25 to 110, while feeder issued ended the day sharply higher, 
up 102 to 165. Beef cutouts are expected to close higher with moderate to 
good box movement.
